Mountainside Boys Soccer Bullying/Hazing Policy:
Bullying can be defined as Physical, Verbal, or Emotional abuse in any form which causes a student athlete to become uncomfortable or feel unsafe in the school or athletic environment.
Athletic Department Statement: Hazing is not condoned in our athletic program, so please help in not organizing any event that may involve kidnapping, TP houses, dress up, or any other activity that may put an athlete in a compromising position or against his/her will.
The School policy can be found in the Consistent Discipline Handbook on the Mountainside HS Website.
Mountainside Boys Soccer Program Protocol:
1st offense: Conversation/meeting with the player, parents, coaches and Athletic Director. Possible partial or full suspension from participation (length to be determined by Coaching Staff and Athletic Director).
2nd offense: Meeting to include a School Administrator. Suspension from participation (length to be determined by Coaching Staff and Athletic Director). Player to be put on a behavioral contract with the Athletic Department.
3rd offense: Meeting with all of the above. Suspension from all program activities for the remainder of the season.
As a program we work to encourage our Athletes to be positive and supportive with each other and with our competition. We never want to get to the point where we are keeping kids out of competition and practice due to behavior.
We understand that undesirable behaviors occur, and we will do everything we can to help fix the small issues before they become larger problems. Please contact your Coach if you feel like there is an offense occurring.
