Link Crew and Freshmen students

Link Crew is a program that aims to welcome incoming freshmen into Mountainside by introducing them to senior leaders. At the end of their junior year, students are able to apply to be a Link Crew Leader. Leaders are trained late spring and the week before school starts to provide an inclusive first day for incoming 9th graders, inform their small group of freshmen (based on Advisory classes) about our school, give them tours, and help answer any questions that could lower nervousness about starting high school. Our first full school day with freshmen focuses on establishing positive relationships and understanding our MHS culture through various small group activities, as well as whole group assemblies. Students will also have the opportunity to go to each class on their schedule for 10 minute periods in order to be more comfortable finding their way around the school and meeting their teachers. Link Crew Leaders will also meet periodically throughout the school year with their freshmen small groups in Advisory classes.

Staff member advisers for our Link Crew program are Chris Lumpkin, Megan Schmidt, and Erik Reinholt.
